If the question seems to be highly relevant and a repeated one from several customers, it will then be added to our FAQ.

You must be logged in to be able to rent a server. While logged in, simply click on the link "Rent" in the main menu and choose which service you want and all basic settings of it. Also here you can choose to pay either with your personal account or a clan account (if you have a clan setup with friends to share the cost).
On the last step you will go through an overview of your order were you can check that all settings are correct and the cost is as expected. Here you may also enter a discount code if you have received one.
Once the order is complete your server will boot up and be available within 1 minute.

Each server is directly connected to at least 1Gbit line that goes to our Core which has an capacity of 40Gbit. Our core is connected to two upstream ISP's for redundancy. Our ISP has a backbone capacity of over 200Gbps.
This makes it possible for us to provide a stable and low latency connected even during a possible outage on one of our upstream providers.

If by any chance there would be something wrong with your service, please contact our support and have them investigate the issue.

Please be as detailed as possible about the issue you are experiencing. Include information such as:
Username.
IP-address or DNS name for your server.
When the issue started.
Are more then one user experiencing the issue?

The more information you include, the faster we can help you!

Absolutely, all servers are always online 24/7 except during maintenance or if you have shut down your server manually yourself.

First check if there is any ongoing maintenance or outage. If there aren't any, please contact the support and they will assist you. You can also chat with us live via IRC (#SwedishHost @ Quakenet).

Verify that your computer or internet connection is working correctly. Also check any config changes that you may have made to the server. Badly written mods and plugins may also cause abnormal lags on a server if implemented incorrectly.
If the issue presist after above checks, please create a support ticket on our website so we may assist you. You can also chat with us live via IRC (#SwedishHost @ Quakenet).

You can easily test how much latency and packet-loss you have by running ping towards ping.swedishhost.se.
To run ping from Windows you must press start, write CMD and hit return. In the terminal window that opens, write ping ping.swedishhost.se and hit return.
It will send 5 test packets which should all be received if there is no loss.

1. Check if you are the only one experiencing the lag. If it is just you then the problem is more likely closer to your PC, your operator or home network. If several people are experiencing lag then the issue is more likely to be closer to us.


2. Perform a "traceroute". (Start --> write cmd (and hit return) --> Write "tracert your-server-IP" (found on the control panel).
   You will now get a list of each hop your computer takes in order to reach the server. Each hop you see is a router.
   You can see the latency for each hop and some times this helps in narrowing down where the issue is. Copy your result and send it to us in a support ticket if you need help checking it.

All our server are either running our own version of Linux Debian or on Windows Server.
We have developed a custom environment for each OS to maximize the performance of each server instance that runs.

You can see which OS your server runs on by visiting the control panel.

Yes, we have DDoS protection with high end filters deployed on all our locations.

When we choose to agree to a sponsorship agreement with an organization it needs to live up to some of our basic demands and expectations. Even if the organization meets all demands listed, it's no guarantee that the application will be approved. But it does guarantee that we will even consider the application seriously as we don't have to ask for more information.

An organizations can be a clan, community or company.

Basic demands and expectations:
A well written application with emphasis on what the organization can do for us. What SwedishHost can do for you is not relevant in the first step of communication.

Be able to show seriousness and a professional job being done within the organization and towards it's members.

Have your own website with an appropriate domain. (.se, .com, .net, .nu, .eu, .org etc).

Have the ability to enter a legal agreement that includes all aspects of the sponsorship deal if the sponsorship includes a larger amount of services.

For clans there is also a need for you to demonstrate your previous merits such as wins in tournaments and other forms of competition.

For communities it's important to include all possible aspects of publicity SwedishHost would receive from entering into a sponsorship agreement with you. Such as banners, logo placements, news articles etc.
The size of your community is also of importance to include in the application.

Ibland kan det ta en relativt lång tid att få respons på sin ansökan och det är helt beroende på hur stor kö det finns. Du är inte själv om att ansöka och vi behandlar alla ansökningar i den ordning de kommer in.

Oftast beror långa svarstider på att vi fortfarande håller på överväger ansökan eller att vi behöver mer information om organisationen eller vad de eftersöker.

Oseriösa eller halvdana ansökningar kommer att kastas direkt.

On the control panel you can enter the ModID for the mods you want under "Settings" -> "Mods". The server will then download and install the mods when it starts. If you want to have multiple mods, separate each ModID with a comma. Example: 123456,654421

If you want to install mods on your own you can do that throught FTP. All you need to do is to find the mod you want to run on the Steamworkshop and download it to you client.
Once downloaded to your client you can upload it (the whole folder) to the servers mod folder found under "Content" -> "Mods". If the Mods folder is missing, simply create it.

When the folders and files for the mod is uploaded, enter the ModID on the control panel to activate it. This can be done under "Settings" -> "Mods", uncheck "Automatic mod management" and save.

There are two ways to login as admin on your sever. Both described below.

1. Auto admin.
Create the file "AllowedCheaterSteamIDs.txt" in the folder "Saved" on your server via FTP. In the file you enter your Steam64 ID, if you want to add several admins, enter each one on it's own row.

2. Manual login in-game.
Bring up the in-game console and write: enablecheats "your admin pass"
and hit return.
You are now admin and can use the in-game admin menu by writing: setcheatplayer true

All settings are done in the following file accessible via FTP:
/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/GameUserSettings.ini

XP, Taming and Harvest/Gathering
XPMultiplier=1.000000
HarvestAmountMultiplier=1.000000
TamingSpeedMultiplier=1.000000

An increased value on these settings increases the amount of XP you will get, how much resources you collect during gathering and how fast Taming will proceed.

If you want to double the amout of XP earned, change the value to XPMultiplier=2.000000
If you want to get 50% more resources during gathering, change the value to HarvestAmountMultiplier=1.500000

Controlling night and day cycle
DayTimeSpeedScale=1.000000
NightTimeSpeedScale=1.000000

An increased value on above settings will increase the lenght of the day/night. As an example, if you want the night to be half as long you can simply set NightTimeSpeedScale=0.5,

Activating crosshair and player location
ServerCrosshair=1 - Activates player crosshair. Set to 0 to disable.
ShowMapPlayerLocation=1 - Activates players to see their location on the map. Set to 0 to disable.

Activating the settings for on server
Put each of the above settings into the file GameUserSettings.ini under the section [ServerSettings] as shown below.

Save the file, upload to the server via FTP and then resrtart your server from the control panel.

Utvecklarna, Infinityward, har slutat med support för spelet och sagt upp sin licens av Punkbuster sedan 2014. Därmed finns det inte längre att ladda ner och uppdatera med nya definitioner. Så PunkBuster är som default avstängt på varje server.

Om du vill lägga in en äldre version av PunkBuster så går dessa att hitta på nätet och kan laddas upp till servern via FTP. Därefter aktiverar du/ni PunkBuster via kontrollpanelen och startar om servern så fungerar det.

Vi har valt att göra på det här sättet istället för att ha det påslaget som default då detta kan skapa konflikter för spelare som kör nyare PunkBuster än vad servern har.

Kontakta supporten om du har frågor eller funderingar kring detta.

Var noga med att kontrollera gemener och versaler (stora och små bokstäver). Kvarstår problemet så kontakta oss via IRC (#SwedishHost) eller via ett supportformulär som du fyller i under "Kontakt".

Vi har gjort egna configs som gör det lättare för dig att administrera servern. Ni skriver enkelt något utav de kommandon vi förinställt enligt nedan:

"Rcon start" Startar matchen med 1 rs.
"Rcon warmup" Restartar rundan med warmup settings.

ESL configs finns förinlagda och kan exekveras med:
"Rcon esl" Laddar esl och startar matchen.

Det finns även tillgång till att lägga in egna configs för de som hyr långtidsserver (1 månad eller längre), för att få in din egen config så vänligen nyttja ett FTP-program för att ladda upp filen/filerna.

Lösenordet kan du byta via kontrollpanelen eller genom att skriva rcon sv_password ”ditt lösenord” i consolen efter att du har loggat in med rcon. Behöver du byta rcon så hänvisar vi till kontrollpanelen alternativt att du i spelet skriver "rcon rcon_password 'nytt pass'"

Byt via kontrollpanelen eller starta CS och skriv följande i consolen:

1. Skriv in rcon_password ”ditt rcon”
2. rcon_port ”port”
3. rcon_address ”ip”
4. rcon sv_password ”nytt lösenord”

Samtliga original + cpl kartor finns inlagda. Utöver detta har vi lagt in ett helt pack med över 150st olika kartor. Vill du lägga in en egen karta så kan du göra de enkelt via FTP-access som du hittar i kontrollpanelen under din server.

Absolut. Det finns även en funktion för att stänga av VAC om du vill spela med ett tredjeparts antifusk som exempelvis EAC.

Vi ser helst att ni kör med VAC för att motverka fusk på servern. Vill ni inte ha VAC aktiverat så kan ni stänga av detta via kontrollpanelen på sidan.

Logga in med ditt rcon på servern och skriv följande: "rcon csstats_reset 1".

Du skriver "amx_addadmin "Nick eller SteamID" "abcdefghijklmnopqrstu". Detta förutsätter att du själv är admin på din server genom RCON. Du ändrar själv rättigheterna på din admin via bokstavskombinationen a till u.
Det går även att lägga till admins via users.ini filen som ligger under addons/amxmodx/configs/users.ini varpå man följer det exempel som redan finns där i. För mer information besök amxmodx hemsida.

ja alla våra hlds servrar ligger på 1000 fps.
Alla public servrar ligger på 900 fps för maximal prestanda vid flertalet spelare.

First check that your client is using the latest version of the game by checking it through the Steam client.

Try restarting your server to make sure that it receives the latest update if a new one have recently been released.

Make sure the server is using the correct "mapgroup" on the control panel.

Make sure you have entered a valid GSLT key on the control panel.

If you have edited files via the FTP-service, try restoring/reverting the changes done and restart the server.

If nothing else works, then note the error message you receive and contact our support for assistance.

Yes, we always run with the highest possible tickrate for our customer. If you would like to use a lower tickrate for any reason, such as heavy plugins that can't run 128, then contact our support and we will assist you with the change.

You can use the command rcon tv_enable 1 (restart the map after executing the command for it to work).

If your server have port 27015 then your GOTV will be on port 27020.
You can check the status of GOTV by executing the command rcon tv_status in the console.

Valve have in a series of updates pushed out a change in how servers are hosted and what's required to make them connectible. These updates forces each individual server to have a unique token associated with it during start-up to make it connectible. These tokens/keys, also called Game Server Login Token (GSLT), can be generated and activated on the control panel by following these steps:

1. Login and check requirements
Start by logging into the following steam link http://steamcommunity.com/dev/managegameservers and make sure your account meets the requirements stated below.

* Your Steam account must not be currently community banned or locked.
* Your Steam account must not be limited.
* Your Steam account must have a qualifying registered phone.
* Your Steam account must own the game for which you are creating a game server account.
* Your Steam account may create 1000 game server accounts.

2. Choose game to generate key for
Enter the ID 730 in the field APPID and a short description in the MEMO field.

3. Copy the key to the control panel
Copy the key that got generated and go to the control panel here at SwedishHost.com and enter it under Settings -> GSLT Key. Save your settings and restart the server.

4. Verify that it's working
Go to Serverlog on the control panel and verify that you see a log message as the example below. If this is not visible, contact support and we will help you sort it out!

Logging into Steam gameserver account with logon token XXXX

An authkey is used to connect to Valve's web-api so that you for example can download maps from their servers. You can use an authkey to link workshop collections of maps to your server. There are fields in the server settings on the control panel to enter the settings for it.

You can create a authkey by going to this page: http://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey
Once you are logged in, write what you want in the domain name, accept the agreement and click register to get an authkey linked to your account.

Yes, you're free to install 3rd party plugins as long as they meet the rules that Valve has defined.

1. Grab .zip from https://github.com/lolleko/guesswho/ and extract it.

2. Rename the directory to guesswho instead of guesswho-master.

3. Upload content to the directory addons/ using FTP.

4. Copy the contents of addons/guess_who/maps/ to maps/ in the root-catalogue at the FTP.

5. Go to the control panel and change game mode to guesswho.

6. The configuration file is located in addons/guesswho/gamemodes/guesswho/gamemode/ and called sh_config.lua.

Tillgängliga gametypes är coop, versus och survival. För att exempelvis starta versus, skriv "rcon sv_gametypes versus" i consolen.

I originalversionen av Minecraft så kan du köra följande kommandon:

/tp - Teleporterar dig till en annan spelare eller en annan spelare till dig. Går även att använda koordinater.

/ban - Bannar en spelare.

/solid - Ändrar sten till att bli ett block av Adminium. Detta fungerar endast med sten.

/kick - Kickar en spelare.
Exempel: /kick player1

/setworldspawn - Sätter startpunkten där varje ny spelare börjar när de loggar in. Detta kommando sätter startpunkten där den som utfärdar det står.

/say - Säger något globalt till alla spelare från servern.
Exempel: /say Hej

/whitelist add - Lägger till spelare i vitlistan
/whitelist delete - Tar bort spelare från vitlistan
/whitelist reload - Laddar om vitlistan

Via kontrollpanelen kan du ändra vilken modifikation av Minecraft du vill köra.
Kryssa i Bukkit för att starta om servern med Bukkit-motorn aktiverad.
Kryssa i Tekkit för att starta om servern med Tekkit-motorn aktiverad.

Ja. Allt du behöver göra är att via kontrollpanelen se till att servern körs i "offline" läge och lägg till ditt och dina vänners nick i vitlistan så kommer ni kunna ansluta och spela mot servern precis som vanligt. I klienterna klickar ni "Play offline" och sedan ansluter mot servern.

Vi har satt in en begränsning på 6.5 GB för att minska risken för snedfördelning på våra servrar. Om du har behov av mer än 6.5 GB minne, vänligen lägg ett supportärende så ska vi se till att skräddarsy en lösning som fungerar för dig.

Har din värld blivit korrupt på grund av något plugin eller något kommando som körts så kan du antingen skapa en ny värld genom att ändra namn på världen i kontrollpanelen och starta om servern.

Vill man inte skapa en ny värld utan få tillbaka den man nyss spelade på så kan man kontakta supporten så kan de återställa från en backup. Dessa backuper tas en gång per dygn och finns endast i två exemplar. Dvs du måste vara snabb på att kontakta supporten så de hinner hämta backup-filen innan den skrivs över med den korrupta. Undersök vad som hände genom att läsa serverprocess-loggen på kontrollpanelen och deaktivera det plugin som gjorde världen korrupt.

Vi strävar efter att alltid köra de senaste releaserna av Minecraft, Bukkit och Tekkit som är stabila, det vill säga inga utvecklingsversioner eller beta-versioner.

Dessa KAN ni dock få installerade på er server om ni verkligen vill köra dessa. Kontakta supporten så lägger vi in den version ni vill ha.

Skulle er server inte köra senaste versionen och ni har provat att starta om efter att en ny release har släppts så kontakta supporten så får vi undersöka vad som hänt.

In order to add an admin to your Minecraft server you can use our control panel and fill in your Microsoft Minecraft username and click "Add to operators".

Through our control panel you can choose the "Remove operator" button after filling in the persons Minecraft ID.

We have no restrictions on mods as the game currently has no official support for them. Once the game is released in a full version and mods support is added we may revise this decision.

Yes, through our control panel you can either use the built in FTP function or see login details that you can use in your own FTP client. After connecting you have access to add, delete and modify your server files as you see fit.

Första gången du ansluter till din TeamSpeak server så anger du först serverns lösenord (endast om du valt att servern ska lösenordsskyddas). Därefter kommer det upp en dialogruta som ber dig ange din Privilege Key, Denna hittar du i kontrollpanelen under fliken "Privilege Keys".
Skulle inte förfrågan om att ange en nyckel komma upp så finns denna funktion i din TeamSpeak klient under "Permissions" -> "Use Privilege Key", varpå du anger nyckeln.

A Privilege Key is a key that is generated by the TeamSpeak 3 server and allows the one using it to become server administrator.
As a server administrator you have the highest privilege possible for the server instance.

Vi erbjuder för tillfället endast TeamSpeak 3 till uthyrning och försöker hålla oss till den senaste versionen som finns ute. Varje ny uppdatering som släpps från utvecklarna måste först testas utav oss. Om den nya versionen klarar våra tester så kommer den rullas ut i produktion.

Valve har nyligen släppt en uppdatering till Team Fortress 2 som berör samtliga Team Fortress 2 servrar. Den här uppdateringen innebär att du måste registrera en unik nyckel för varje enskild server, även kallat Gameserver Login Token (GSLT) som ska registreras med din server för att den ska gå att ansluta till och även bli synlig i serverlistan.

Mata in 440 i fältet APPID och mata in ett värde i MEMO så du kommer ihåg vart du har använt det här keyn.

We do not offer EAC as a standard service. However it is possible to order EAC from us if the need arises. Only large quantity orders is possible, no single servers.

To use EAC on our servers, please deactivate VAC via the Control Panel first.

The game is set to autosave every 20 minutes.
The server will also save the game world each time you stop or restart it.
As an admin you can issue the "Save" command in the console if you would wish to save it more often or at a specific time.

Here we give you an example of two methods of finding and joining your server.

Method 1 - In-game
1. Start the game and pick your character and choose "Start Game" followed by "Start".
2. Press "Cancel" on the pop-up box that wants you to start your own local server.
3. Click on the tab "Join game"
4. Filter on your server name (or part of it) and choose "Community" as filter option and press the refresh button.
5. Mark your server once it shows up after a few seconds and click "Connect"

You can also choose to connect directly by writing your servers IP. Go to the "Join Game"-tab and click on "Join IP", enter your IP followed by the port of your server. This information can be found on the control panel. Click OK and you should now be connected and asked for a password if one is set.

Metod 2 - Steam browser
Add your server to your favorites in Steams built-in server browser.

1. Open the Steam client.
2. Click on the top where it says "View" and select "Servers".
3. Go to the tab "Favorites"
4. Click on "Add a server"
5. Insert your servers IP and port in the format "IP:PORT" and test that you have entered it correctly by pressing "Find games on this address".
6. If you server shows up, select it and add it to favorites.

Now the server is saved as your favorites and you can connect to it directly from the Steam clients server browser.

Yes, you can move your local game world to your server by uploading a copy of it via FTP.

First find your local world copy on your PC by navigating to this directory:

C:\Users\\AppData\LocalLow\IronGate\Valheim\

Alternativly you can also just enter this path directly in the address field of Explorer to get to the same location:

%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\IronGate\Valheim

Here you will find a directory called "worlds". In this directory there are files that are named like below:

your_world_name.fwl
your_world_name.db

These two files are the ones you need to make a copy of to upload to your server via FTP (connection details are available in the control panel).

Follow these steps:
1. Stop your server on the control panel.
2. Connect via FTP and copy your two world files to the directory "Saved/worlds" (It is important that both files are uploaded).
3. Change the name of the world in the control panel to match the name of the files without the file ending.
4. Start the server.

If you are encountering issues with above you can always reach out to our support staff for some assistance.

You can become admin of your server and get control from in-game by modifying some files on the server via FTP. In the directory "Saved" there are currently three different files that are important to know about, "adminlist.txt", "bannedlist.txt" and "permittedlist.txt".
By adding Steam IDs to these files you can either add someone to become admin in game, banning them or permitting them to join a server exclusively. You need to add one Steam ID per row for it to work.
Remember to save your changes.

adminlist.txt
With this file you add people to the admin list of the server. Some examples on commands that the admins can issue through the console (Press F5 to show in-game) are:

Kick PLAYERNAME	This kicks the player with matching name.
Ban PLAYERNAME	This bans a player with matching name.
Unban PLAYERNAME	This removes the ban of a player with matching name.
Banned	This lists all the banned players on a server.

bannedlist.txt
This file includes the IDs of all banned players on the server. Admin commands from above add and subract from this list automatically.

permittedlist.txt
This file acts as an Access Control List that filters out so only players that are on the list are allowed to join the server.

For now we do not enforce any such limitations on each server.
We let the server use as much RAM as it needs to run the game.
This is subject to change in the future if resource utilization changes.

In order to install your own mods and plugins that modifies how the game works and runs, you will need a few extra settings and resources that the normal Valheim does not have.

Because of this we have added the modification ValheimPlus as a seperate product which includes these features and resources.

With a ValheimPlus server you are able to not only run the game with the mod Valheim Plus but also install your own modifications.

To restore a previously taken backup for your server there are three options described below depending on how far back you wish to go.
There are backups for 20 minutes back in time, every second hour for the last 24 hours and also daily backups for the last 14 days.

Within 20 minutes

The server runs automatic backups every 20 minutes and saves this as two files ending with ".old".

Performing the restore:

1. 1. Stop the server


2. 2. Navigate via FTP on the Control Panel (or via your own client) to the folder Saved/worlds


3. 3. Change name on the files world.db.old and world.fwl.old to world.db and world.fwl. i.e. remove the file ending ".old".
   If your world is using a different name you must use that instead while applying above.
   This overwrites the world and its data with the data from the backup that was taken 20 minutes ago.


4. 4. Start the server and you're done.

Within 24 hours

We run backups that are taken every second hour as well, these are stored for 24 hours before they are being overwritten. They are saved to a sub folder in "Saved/Backups".
The world and its data is compressed into ".tar.gz" archives while being saved. Extraction of the archive is required to restore them.

To restore a backup you will need a program that can read and extract the archives.
We recommend one of these:

Performing the restore:

1. 1. Download your desired backup file that you find under Saved/Backups via the control panels built in FTP functionality or via an external FTP client. The files are named after the time and date they were taken with the 2 hours interval they are performed.


2. 2. Extract the files on your computer.


3. 3. Change name on the world file, it should be named something like world.db.old.
   Rename it so it is named like world.db, i.e. without the file ending ".old".

4. 4. Stop your server via the control panel.


5. 5. Replace the file that your world currently has under Saved/worlds.


6. 6. Start up your server. It is now running the desired restored backup that was uploaded.

Within 14 days

We perform daily backups on every game server and save these for up to 14 days.
These backups cannot be restored by customers themselves for now. So please contact the support and they will perform the restore.

We will need to know which date you want the restore to be done from and be prepared that we will stop, restore the data and start your server again after confirmation of restore point.

Yes! We support crossplay between both the Steam and Microsoft Xbox Game Pass PC versions of Valheim, so you can play with your friends on either platform without any issues!

ValheimPlus is a modification of the original game.
The mod adds a bunch of features and unlocks several settings that normally are not accessible to the player.

A few examples of settings is unlocks:
* Run the server with more than 10 slots.
* Modify how much bandwidth the server and client use in their communication.
* Possibility to change spawn rates, damage modifiers and auto save timers.

ValheimPlus requires that you have special client-side files installed in order to connect to the server.

As the mod requires that you have files installed in your client in order to connect to a Valheim Plus server, you will need to fetch these files by visiting the address below:

Download the file called WindowsClient.zip


Follow these steps to get the files in the correct place on your PC:

1. Open Steam and right click on Valheim that you already have in your Steam library.
2. Click Properties -> Local Files -> Browse (a window will pop up).
3. Unpack the file you downloaded.
4. Transfer the files from the location that you unpacked them into to the directory that Valheim is installed in (see step 2).
5. Launch the game again and you will have ValheimPlus installed.

Because Valheim Plus changes some default settings in their configuration file when they add or change features, this new configuration file will be pushed out and overwrite any existing file in order to be compatible with the update.

It is thereby very important that you backup your server configuration if you have made any changes from the default settings so you can restore them after any update that might occur.

To change the settings for ValheimPlus you can use our built in FTP on the control panel and access the folder BepInEx/config/ which houses the configuration file valheim_plus.cfg

In this file you can modify and change any values to get the desired setup.
Once you are done changing the settings, simply restart your server and you are good to go.
